Mediacorp is currently in the midst of an 8 episode 1hr drama entitled '9 LIVES' commissioned by Arts Central to be aired Feb 6, 2006.
9 Lives is the first local drama series developed through the creative process of 'improvisation'. It is also the first local series that combines drama & documentary together in one product.
It is based on a novel concept, and the producers are ensuring highest possible production values by putting together a team of award winning individuals:
Tan Kheng Hua (co-producer)
Beatrice Chia (Improv director)
Saw Teong Hin (feature film director who helmed Malaysia's first entry into the Academy Awards.
Others include Pam Oei and Lim Yu Beng.
9 Lives is also the most expensive Arts Central commissioning project ever.
The interns assigned to 9 Lives will be working alongside our interns on the set. Shooting has already begun and will continue up to 15 Dec or so.
Venue : DXO club at the esplanade (the whole story is set in the club).
By early Dec there will be 12 shoot days left. Because the location is a Club, all cast, crew & production teams start work at 2am and end at about noon the following day (we go in only after the club is closed for the day).
Besides assisting on the set, we will also work out a schedule where the interns will help us digitise the rushes.
There is basic salary guideline for polytechnic interns which is $450/month
